Lymph Node Cancer

Approximately 5% of all cancers is lymph node cancer, which is also known as lymphoma. More men than women are effected by this form of cancer, but that does not mean that women cannot get it, because they can. Those people who are between the ages of 15 and 54-years-old are at the highest risk for developing this form of cancer. However, people who are not in this age bracket have also been know to develop this form of cancer, but those in this age bracket are at a higher risk. Of course, regardless of your age or gender, if your doctor is able to diagnose this form of cancer early on, you will have a much greater chance of recovering.

Lymph node cancer is a form of cancer that involves your lymphatic system, which is a very important part of your body's immune system. There are 2 forms of lymph node cancer:

  1. Hodgkins Disease is one form of lymph node cancer that almost everyone has heard of. This is actually a rare form of lymph node cancer. Some of its symptoms include night sweats, unexplained wight loss, constant fatigue and unexplained fever.
  2. Non-Hodgkins lymphoma is the second type of lymph node cancer. This is what the majority of lymph node cancer is. The symptoms of non-Hodgkins lymphoma are the same as the symptoms of Hodgkins Disease. If you have a family history of this type of cancer, then you are at a higher risk of developing it yourself, regardless of your gender.

It is believed that this form of cancer increases with the more exposure that you have to herbicides and pesticides. Fortunately it is curable whenever it is detected and treated early on. With this form of treatment, a person can expect to live a long, normal life. There are many forms of innovative treatments available thanks to the fact that the medical community has gained a greater understanding of this form of cancer in the past few years. In fact, many treatments that use to be experimental have been found to be effective now. As such they are now being used to treat and cure lymph node cancer.

Of course, as we age we expect to encounter some medical challenges. Some of us are bound to have to overcome lymph node cancer. Your ability to overcome this cancer will depend upon the way that you approach it. With a fighting spirit that will not accept defeat you will more than likely be able to beat this form of cancer.
